Dear Boys and Girls! All the best for your common test this week! Do keep up the hard work! I know it's tough, having common test and band at the same time, but do persevere, and you will definately see results! Don't forget to put on your best show, best performance at school tomorrow! Well, your school is hosting other schools, so, do your best and make teachers proud of you people! Remember, if I take 10 hours to cut a tree , I would spend 8 hours sharpening my knife! [It shows the significance of preparation that one has to put into his or her work. it also shows how important 'planning' is to a task that has to be performed. the effort that we put into a task has to be proportional to making it right. There's no point in beginning to cut down a tree without heeding to how sharp the ax is or if its sharp enough to cut down the whole tree. None of us like to interrupt our task unnecessarily to get the preparation materials right, if we could have prepared well, before beginning the task.] -Mr Goh

Hi boys and girls! Hope you all are doing fine for your exams! Remember not to fail any subjects! As it will pull down your final year exam results! I'm pretty sure most of you are enjoying this week cos of the YOG! Anyway, the rank test criteria, i will post it up on our Serangoon Symphonic Band face group page! Or you can drop me an email, and i'll send it to you! Once you pass the test, you will be awarded the ranks! Do revise for your test!! And, lets all work hard for our Genting Band Competition! A very big congratulations to all of you boys and girls! Your hard work paid off! We have a score of 76%....attaining a SILVER! It does pay off right? Putting in that amount of hard work and remembering everything that the instructors tell you to do so! I'm so proud of you boys and girls! We have to keep it up! Work harder! Our next target! Genting Band competition! For some of you, it's the first time achieving a silver for the band! So, do work hard, and train your juniors to practice hard! Put in the amount of extra effort in achieving results! It can be done! All of you have to remember, we are ONE BAND, ONE HEART, ONE SOUND! We do things together, we achieve results together, we work hard together, we play together! Once again, a very big thank you for putting in that amount of hard work, and congratulations to all of you! hi bandies. long time never update already. anyway, our up coming event will be the speech day for sec2-5 which is next Friday. there will be a rehearsal tomorrow in the school hall, therefore members from sec2-5 are allowed to leave their class at 12.30pm and report straight to band room. you are expected to bring your full outdoor uniform (including your marching shoes, skirts etc.) as we will be having a full dress rehearsal in the afternoon. please also remember to bring your band t-shirt. by the way, this will be the last performance for the sec4s and 5 student. after the performance, sec4s will be passing down to sec3s. so sec3s please work hard in the times to come and band members, please cooperate with your committee members. with regards, sinwee

Hey people, its the first day of the first week of the second month of 2010 already. Time really fly don't you agree. Ha ha! well, looks like the sec1s are already coming for their third practice. i wonder if the they know our blog? Did anybody tell them? I hope that they will be learning fast this year so seniors please work hard. Anyway next practice for sec1s is tomorrow(at least a senior from every section to be there) and Wednesday for main band. Please remember to bring your Band-tee and your instruments.Report in your school uniform at 8:30am outside the boys toilet.Please be quick in coming up. hi bandies. long time never update already. anyway, our up coming event will be the speech day for sec2-5 which is next Friday. there will be a rehearsal tomorrow in the school hall, therefore members from sec2-5 are allowed to leave their class at 12.30pm and report straight to band room. you are expected to bring your full outdoor uniform (including your marching shoes, skirts etc.) as we will be having a full dress rehearsal in the afternoon. please also remember to bring your band t-shirt. by the way, this will be the last performance for the sec4s and 5 student. after the performance, sec4s will be passing down to sec3s. so sec3s please work hard in the times to come and band members, please cooperate with your committee members. with regards, sinwee

Hey people, its the first day of the first week of the second month of 2010 already. Time really fly don't you agree. Ha ha! well, looks like the sec1s are already coming for their third practice. i wonder if the they know our blog? Did anybody tell them? I hope that they will be learning fast this year so seniors please work hard. Anyway next practice for sec1s is tomorrow(at least a senior from every section to be there) and Wednesday for main band.
